3 books

3 books I'm reading now:

Getting things done

Don't we all need to? Very useful. So far I've adopted the method of making a weekly to-do list instead of a daily one. It does make more sense. Another thing is, purge, purge, purge! The less stuff you have, the less clutter you have, the less time you'll spend worrying about all that "stuff". It'll make your life much simpler and easier. Not done reading yet...

The magic of thinking big

It says people are products of their environment. You're what you think. So you need keep feeding yourself good mind food. Still reading...

Your money or your life

I started to read more books on personal finance. Really, it is important to become financially literate. Basic rule is: live within your means, and take care of what you have. Still reading...

象老公说的:You deserve it! Because I'm worth it.

In Remembrance of Michael Jackson

I first saw Michael Jackson's music video, BAD, when I was in China, a new high school student. In the late 80's, in China! Nothing like that was ever on TV then. I thought that was the coolest thing I ever saw.

I think he is a terribly gifted singer and dancer. He made some poor judgments along the way, but the media was unkind to him and he was misunderstood.

He is really cute and sweet in this 1993 Oprah interview.

Books I'm reading now

The 80/20 Principle

Great book. The author is really smart, intelligent. You can tell by how he writes the book. I like his writing style, simple yet straight forward and to the point. Maybe I can use this principle to help me become more productive.

Art Marketing 101

Get it! If you're an artist. The thing is marketing is never taught in art school and art classes. We thought we are supposed to paint all the time! But no, half of your work hours need to be devoted to marketing. Besides, can you really paint 8 hours a day, everyday? At least I can't. I'll be so bored. I need to do different things to keep me charged anyway.

Real Success without a Real Job

Kind of a rambling book. The only good points so far are the various books the author mentioned through out...like Art Marketing 101! It helped me to find other books, great books.

Think Big and Kick Ass

Mostly written by Donald Trump. Still reading it. Makes for an entertaining read. There are somethings I don't see eye to eye with him, like, you have to get even! Every time! And, do not trust anybody. I can see this being useful in a brutal business world. But thank God that is not what I want to do. Not applicable for artists. We probably do exactly the opposite.
